Worthington City Council allocates an annual budget of approximately $34 million dollars. Most of that revenue is from income tax collection from people who are employed in Worthington.

 

Only about 6% of your property taxes goes to the City of Worthington. The rest of it goes to the school district and county services.

 

Worthington City Council has no decision-making authority over the Worthington School District. In fact, the school district is about three times larger than the city of Worthington by population.

 

Worthington is one of the only communities where every household is within a short walking distance to a park and a school.

 

Worthington's Mayor is one of two in Ohio that is appointed by Council, and is responsible for overseeing Mayor's Court.
