Orange Johnson Bicentennial
This year marks the bicentennial anniversary of the Orange Johnson house in Worthington. This landmark property is arguably the most historic building in Worthington. It embodies the character that Worthington residents have come to appreciate.
The Worthington Historical Society is raising funds to replace the front walkway wall (next to High St.) with a more structurally-sound and historically appropriate walkway. The project costs are $150,000.
I felt that the city needed to support this worthy project to enhance the property and support the historical society’s objectives. I worked with the historical society to request city funding for a portion of this project.
I am happy to announce Council approved $36,000 towards this bicentennial project.
